Commodity Centre Group needed full electrical compliance across a large, fully operational warehousing and logistics site in Great Braxted. The challenge was simple but uncompromising. Every warehouse had to be inspected, tested and certified without disrupting day to day operations.
The site consists of fifteen live warehouse units handling goods from across the UK and overseas. Shutting down power during working hours was not an option. Any disruption would have had a direct impact on logistics, and commercial activity.
JR Revell planned and delivered a carefully coordinated inspection and testing programme that allowed the entire site to remain operational throughout. Our engineers worked around live warehouse activity, managing testing safely and methodically across multiple buildings and stakeholders.
The scope included full Electrical Installation Condition Reports across all distribution boards and circuits, completion of remedial works where required, and the installation of surge protection devices throughout the site. JR Revell also introduced cloud based sub metering to every distribution board, giving the client clear visibility of energy use across the estate.
To minimise disruption, works were carried out during evenings, weekends and agreed out of hours periods. Forward planning and clear communication with site managers ensured everyone knew what was happening, when it was happening, and why.
The result was full compliance across all fifteen warehouses, achieved with zero disruption to operations. The electrical installation received a clean bill of health, with certification accepted by insurers and stakeholders, and no outstanding defects.
Beyond compliance, the introduction of sub metering has helped Commodity Centre Group take control of energy consumption, supporting longer term efficiency and sustainability planning.
