JR Revell was appointed by Faircloth Construction to design and deliver temporary electrical services to support a major commercial construction project in Cambridge. The works began in September 2025 and were planned to run for approximately nine months, supporting the site from initial setup through ongoing construction activity.
From the outset, the priority was clear. The site needed to be powered, lit and fully operational from day one, with systems that could adapt as layouts changed and the programme evolved. Temporary electrical infrastructure had to be safe, reliable and flexible enough to grow alongside the project without slowing progress or compromising compliance.
As the site developed, working areas, access routes and compound arrangements were regularly adjusted. JR Revell designed the temporary electrical setup with this reality in mind. Power distribution, lighting and evacuation alarm systems were planned to allow straightforward extension, relocation and reconfiguration, ensuring services could move as quickly as the site itself.
Working closely with the Faircloth Construction site team, JR Revell coordinated installations around live site activity and responded promptly to changing requirements. Regular communication ensured upcoming needs were anticipated rather than reacted to, keeping the site powered and operational at all times.
The temporary electrical services delivered included site wide power distribution, energy efficient temporary lighting and evacuation alarm systems to support safe working and regulatory compliance. Every element was designed with practicality and longevity in mind, allowing the installation to continue supporting the project beyond its initial programme assumptions.
The result was a dependable and adaptable temporary electrical infrastructure that enabled a busy construction site to operate safely, efficiently and without disruption. Reliable power and lighting were available from initial setup through successive construction phases, helping maintain productivity and programme certainty.
This project demonstrates JR Revell’s hands on approach to temporary site services. By applying early electrical thinking, staying closely involved on site and taking ownership throughout delivery, JR Revell provided a solution that supported real world construction demands and kept the project moving.
